Pumpkin and her six 9 day old kittens were rescued from a kill shelter in Tennessee. Pumpkin was surrendered to the shelter only several days before she had her babies. It was an awfully stressful environment for a new mama and newborn kits and it was a 1 week process to pull them from the shelter. Pumpkin arrived with various problems, including not producing enough milk for her babies, refusing to eat and having horrid coccidia and mild URI. She was severely emaciated, only weighing around 5.8 lbs. She had to get IVs and syringe fed wet food. When she finally started eating a bit, we switched to the high calorie AD food and we saw great progress from there. A couple of her babies weren't eating enough so I had to supplement feed with KMR. After Pumpkin's appetite improved, she produced more milk.
Pumpkin's kittens are now 6 weeks old and available for pre-adoption! She and her babies will be ready to leave for their new homes November/first of December after being spayed and neutered at 3-4 months old. Pumpkin's kittens are now almost four weeks old and are doing quite well! They all have that adorable typical kitten behavior and are becoming quite playful. We're looking forward to seeing how their personalities blossom as they get older. We don't think it gets any cuter than this!

Mama Pumpkin
Pumpkin is one of the sweetest cats to date that I've fostered. She had such a rough start and went through so much but has always been so positive and sweet. She wants nothing more than love and will politely "ask" for attention by tapping you with her paw. When you walk into the room, she will stand on her hind legs and make biscuits in the air. She is a people cat and wants to be wherever you are. She is also quite beautiful and has gorgeous soulful eyes. She is the best mama and just adores her babies. Pumpkin's future forever family will be so blessed with this girl.
